Project Manager – Data Science in i-com

As part of I-COM’s strategic development plan, we are looking for a Project Manager for Data Science Hackathon to join our team and lead execution of I-COM’s Data Science Hackathons.

The I-COM Data Science Hackathons focus on solving real problems and achieving results, often accelerating to outcomes that normally take months of work to achieve or replicate. It is a 24-hour marathon where competing teams develop algorithms using data science analytics to solve predictive modeling challenges on marketers' datasets.

REPORTING LINE: The person will be under the direct supervision of the Chairman


  • Project Management experience
  • Rudimentary understand of Data Science/ Computer Science
  • Experience is Marketing
  • Experience in the hacker community (Student including)
  • experience in organizing or managing hackathons, innovation challenges or similar events, preferably in a multi-cultural/developing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally work weekends
  • Passionate about technical education and communities
  • Energetic and high level of commitment
  • Action and solution oriented
  • Balanced in communication
  • Open and creative yet firmly on the ground to be able to deliver output accurately on time
  • Able to communicate with brands and marketing network

Main Responsibilities:

  • Mentor & Support Data Science Hackathon (DSH) Team
  • Create DSH planning tools and resources
  • Plan Execution Timeline
  • Execute DSH
  • Ensure each group of stakeholders has a clear flow of engagement
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing team to ensure success of the DSH
  • Prepare all needed guidelines for each stakeholder group
  • Maintain Website information and the consistency of the messages sent by I-COM
  • Provide Feedback to the Organising Team and guide them to achieve Hackathon goals
  • Work closely with the Hackathon Board and Challenge Leads to make sure a successful delivery of the Hackathons
