SEO Consultant at State of Digital Publishing

State of Digital Publishing (SODP) is looking for a full-time remote SEO Consultant with 3-5 years experience. Reporting to the Head of SEO and Operations Director, you will oversee the execution of SEO strategies of our clients to ensure they are in line with the client’s expectations and business goals. You will also be a lead account manager and point of communication on behalf of SODP.

SODP is a start-up market research publisher that is focused on building a community for digital media publishing professionals as well as content and media owners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Be the superstar responsible for managing the execution of SEO strategies end-to-end

* First POC to coordinate or implement core SEO activities like Technical Audits, Internal Linking,

performance Analysis, Keyword Research, Competitor Research, Content Optimization, etc.

* Develop SEO strategies for our clients, including detailed content plans, competitor analysis, topic

research, content pillar strategy, and opportunity analysis

* Monitoring and reporting on search trends and SEO performance

* Creation and maintenance of a library of SEO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

* Make intuitive and data-driven decisions to leverage tech and content to achieve client goals

* Perform and deliver under tight deadlines

* Learn and adapt to SODP’s process and methodologies and help improve them in the longer term

* A key POC for clients – from keeping in touch, taking meeting notes, and identifying methods of

retaining and upselling opportunities

* Execute various technical SEO tasks, such as ensuring website crawlability and indexability,

monitoring of E-EAT signals, top stories optimization, etc.

* Generate monthly and quarterly SEO reports and communicate the progress of SEO campaigns to

our clients, present new strategies and maintain relationships with them.

* Work closely with our technical, product, and editorial teams to ensure our clients’ SEO, marketing,

and business goals are met

* Make sure all SEO strategies are in line with our clients’ KPIs and business goals

* Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends and practices

* Learn and adapt to SODP’s process and methodologies and help improve them in the longer term

EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITIES

* Deep understanding of organic search and search engine marketing

* 3-5 years of proven experience in SEO — must be comfortable with tech and content

experience in team management

* Interest in Publisher & News SEO and specializing in this subset for the long term

* A self-starter with the ability to grasp requirements quickly

* A continuous learner

* Comfortable with project management and analytical tools

* Track record in creating engaging and compelling content

* Must be experienced with using tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming

Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, etc., to uncover insights for clients

* Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative and positive

team environment

* Someone with a strong inclination for team management and project execution on timelines

* Successful track record in project management and organic growth

* A collaborative team player who values the success of the whole team, in addition to their own

* Comfortable working in an asynchronous environment and remote working tools like Loom
