SEO Strategist in HubSpot

As an SEO Strategist, you’ll help drive qualified traffic to one of the highest-value sections of HubSpot’s site: our product pages. Not only will you have a huge impact on HubSpot’s bottom line, you’ll also get internal visibility. You’ll be working closely with several different teams in HubSpot’s Marketing department, including User Acquisition, Product Marketing, International SEO, and Web Strategy.Here’s what you’ll do:
- Create new product pages and increase traffic to existing ones
- Give SEO recommendations on naming and positioning
- Do keyword research for URLs, headers, and copy and give recommendations accordingly
- Implement structured data markup
- Test and optimize meta descriptions, page titles, internal links, and more
- Work with our regional Marketing and SEO teams to coordinate the roll-out of international product pages (for example, https://www.hubspot.es/products/marketing/seo)
- Audit product pages for mobile and desktop speed, accessibility, and overall performance, and make recommendations based on what you find
- Track product page organic traffic, rankings, and conversions and let other stakeholders know when performance changes and/or problems come up
- Own our library of comparison pages
- Report into our Head of Content SEO
We are looking for people who…
- Can figure out how to drive more demand from organic traffic into our products
- Have B2B SEO experience—ideally for a SaaS product
- Are strong writers and communicators
- Can explain highly technical/complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Can think critically and make data-informed decisions
- Have experience in keyword research, competitive analysis, and copy/messaging optimization for search
- Can balance multiple stakeholder needs, work across several different teams, and build consensus
- Have experience using some or all of these tools:
- Spreadsheet software like Google Sheets and/or Excel
- Data visualization tool like Data Studio, Tableau, and/or Looker
- Analytics tools like Google Analytics and Search Console
- Keyword research tool like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and/or STAT
- Crawling/auditing tool like Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, and/or Botify
- HubSpot CMS Hub and/or Marketing Hub
It’s a plus if you...
- Have content creation experience (we’ve found this helps you balance editorial and analytical goals)
- Have worked on multi-location and/or language sites
- Understand tech SEO fundamentals (like how information architecture and site structure work together; the factors that influence site speed; how Googlebot treats JavaScript, etc.)
