Technical Writer (Remote) – Project Based at State of Digital Publishing

State of Digital Publishing (SODP) is a start-up market research publisher that is focused on building a community for digital media publishing professionals as well as content and media owners.

Our vision is to discover and foster sustainable digital media publishing models and, to do that, we’ve made it our mission to build a community that practically supports its members and which is built on a foundation of educational content and research.

As part of that mission, we’re looking for a Technical Writer with experience in writing technology and SEO-related content to help us develop our new training initiative.

Working remotely, you will use your skills in research, writing and analysis to produce easy to consume content on highly technical subject matter. As an ideal candidate, you’ll have a proven track record of helping people understand deeply complex topics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop comprehensive educational content that meets organizational standards
• Translate complex product information into user-friendly material that meets the target audience’s needs
• Work closely with various departments to ensure content is factually accurate and respects the subject matter’s technical complexities
• Perform and deliver under tight deadlines
• Edit or rewrite content to meet the Managing Editor’s expectations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
• At least two years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
• Must have a portfolio of well-written and relevant content 
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail

• Fluent in the English language

• Deep understanding of organic search and search engine marketing
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative and positive team environment
